2011 BDJ Checklist

Welcome 2011! Aside from now I can officially use my 2011 Belle de Jour Power Planner, it’s also time to start the 2011 BDJ Checklist! I’ve also included the 2010 BDJ Checklist that I wasn’t able to accomplish.

2011 BDJ Checklist
  1. Throw a huge party and invite every one of your friends.
  2. Swim with a dolphin.
  3. Go bungee jumping.
  4. Have your portrait painted.
  5. Learn to speak a foreign language and make sure you use it.
  6. Go skinny-dipping
  7. Be an extra in a film.
  8. Learn how to take a compliment.
  9. Give your mother a dozen red roses and tell her you love her.
  10. Be a member of the audience in a TV show.
  11. Send a message in a bottle.
  12. Get to know your neighbors.
  13. Plant a tree.
  14. Learn not to say yes when you really mean no.
  15. Write a fan letter to your all time favorite hero or heroine.
  16. Visit the Senate and the House of Representatives to see how congress really works.
  17. Learn to ballroom dance properly.
  18. Fall deeply in love — helplessly and unconditionally.
  19. Stay out all night dancing and go to work the next day without having gone home (just once).
  20. Be someone’s mentor.
  21. Shower in a waterfall.
  22. Ask for a raise.
  23. Learn to play a musical instrument with some degree of skill.
  24. Teach someone illterate to read.
  25. See a lunar eclipse.
  26. Get passionate about a cause and spend time helping it, instead of just thinking about it.
  27. Sing a great song in front of an audience.
  28. Ask someone you’ve only just met to go on a date.
  29. Sleep under the stars.
  30. Learn how to complain effectively — and do it!
  31. Spend a whole day reading a great novel.
  32. Learn to juggle three balls.
  33. Find a job you love.
  34. Overcome your fear of failure.
  35. Get your body into an optimum shape.
  36. Accept yourself for who you are.
  37. Go up in a hot-air balloon.
  38. Attend one really huge rock concert.
  39. Give to a charity — anonymously.
  40. Go fishing and eat your catch.
  41. Create your Family tree.
  42. Run a marathon.
  43. Learn to wakeboard or surf.
  44. Learn your grandparents’ native dialect.
  45. Solve the Rubik’s Cube.
  46. Watch every movie that has won on Academy Award for best picture.
  47. Discover your life;s purpose.
  48. Become an early riser.
  49. Help build a home with Gawad Kalinga/Habitat for Humanity.
  50. Donate blood.
  51. Be eco-conscious.
  52. Become financially literate.
  53. Go whale watching.
  54. Learn to forgive.
  55. Teach yourself how to change the oil in your car.
  56. Learn how to change a tire.
  57. Call a family member or a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while.
  58. Have a garage sale to clean out your old, but still useful, stuff.
  59. Write a letter to your future children. Share your advice and stories to them.
  60. Make your homemade pizza.
  61. Tell the people in your life that you love them as often as possible.
  62. But yourself a boquet of flowers.
  63. Own a pair of high heels and learn how to walk in them.
  64. Win a contest.
  65. Indulge in a guilty pleasure.
  66. Make a yummy salad and eat it.
  67. Write an old-fashioned , hand written letter to a friend.
  68. Grow a plant.
  69. Enroll in art class — whether it’s drawing or painting or even pottery.
  70. Stand up for yourself.
  71. Travel to a new destination.
  72. Watch a play.
  73. Build a sand castle.
  74. Visit Intramuros and explore the buildings and streets.
  75. Visit Binondo and eat authentic Chinese food.
  76. Meet an uthor, actor or singer that you really like.
  77. Cook a meal for your Dad and tell him how much you love him.
  78. Stay up all night long and watch the sun rise.
  79. Attend a festival in the province.
  80. Learn something new to cook.
  81. Bake cookies and give them to your family and friends.
  82. Try a new shade of lipstick or lipgloss.
  83. Pamper yourself by getting a massage and a body scrub.
  84. Treat your family out to eat – just because
  85. List 20 things you like about someone. And then give the list to that person and make their day.
  86. Host a potluck dinner for your friends.
  87. Start a diary, or a blog.
  88. Memorize a passage in the Bible, or a poem that you can relate to.
  89. Schedule a visit to your doctor for a check up.
  90. Learn how to sew a button onto clothing.
  91. Fake an accent.
  92. Try out a new hairdo.
  93. Give someone you love a huge hug.
  94. Start a reward fund – set aside a few pesos everyday to spluge on something at the end of the year. Expand your identity.
  95. Really clean your room.
  96. Learn to play a musical instrument.
  97. Attend a family reunion.
  98. Learn how to identify a constellation or two.
  99. Watch a live basketball match.
  100. Lead by example! If you can change, then it just might inspire others.

Additional Checklist from 2010:

  1. Learn a foreign language — or at least 50 words to string together a sentence or thought.
  2. Go for annual check up with my physician and OB-Gyne.
  3. Go on a trip on my own, to have some serious “me” time.
  4. Faithfully keep a grateful journal where I’d list down things to be thankful for.
  5. Volunteer fo a cause. and really stick to it.
  6. learn how to fix a flat tire.
  7. Create a soundtrack for your life.
  8. Face a Fear.
  9. Fall in love.
  10. Go on a retreat.
  11. Sign up for a self defense class.
  12. Stay away from toxic people.
  13. Meet a hot guy and don’t feel self conscious while flirting with him.
  14. Visit a foreign locale.
  15. Do something new with my hair.
  16. Write your life story.
  17. Get lost and explore a new place.
  18. Take crazy photos of your place.
  19. Learn from a mistake.
  20. Gatecrash a party.
  21. Isolate yourself from the rest of the world for one day.
  22. Get drunk.
  23. Let yourself go crazy for a night.
  24. sing your heart out with some friends.
  25. Write your goals for the year.
  26. Live in the moment.
  27. Create something completely your own.
  28. Go on a Philippine tour.
  29. Cook a meal for a special someone.
  30. Paint even if you don’t know how.
  31. Talke to your stuffed animal.
  32. Write yourself a love letter.
  33. Play like a kid.
  34. Learn CPR.
  35. Quit a Bad Habit.
